Shirley F. Heintz Obituary (1931

Shirley F. Heintz, age 82, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013, after a brave battle with cancer. She served as Mayor of Centerville for 12 years (1984 thru 1996) and a member of Centerville Council for four years prior to being elected Mayor. It was under her leadership that Centerville acquired the necessary land and developed Yankee Trace Golf Club and the surrounding Development. It was also under her tenure that the city acquired and developed Benham's Grove and Stubbs Park. Born in Cincinnati, nee Fisher, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. Fisher and Antoinette Overberg. She was a graduate of St. Ursula Academy in Cincinnati and Wright State University in Dayton. Among the many honors received were the President of Mayors and Manager's Association, Centerville Women's Club "Celebrating Women" award, and, with her husband Paul chairing the most recent successful Washington-Centerville Library Fund Drive. They were also named "Founders of the Community" by the Centerville-WashingtonFoundation. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years and six children, James (Deb) Heintz, Paula (Jerry Williams), Dr. Kathleen Heintz, Dr. Mary (Scott) Peterson, Thomas (Mary Jo) Heintz and John Heintz. There are eight grandchildren, Haley Heintz, Laura Williams, Alexandra and Clark Conaway, Elizabeth and Michael Peterson, Lauren and Joseph Heintz. She is also survived by her brother Edward F. Fisher (Elaine). Funeral Mass at the Church of the Incarnation on Wednesday, October 30th at 10:00 a.m., visitation 1 hour before Mass. Funeral arrangements by Schlientz & Moore Funeral Homes.
