Joyce Kay Bacon Obituary (1948

Joyce Bacon, 63, passed away on Thursday, 23 February 2012. Joyce was born in Dayton on 3 November 1948, to the late E. Virginia and Albert Champion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dickenson, a Vietnam War veteran. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughters, Alexa (Reed) Rohr and Jessica Miller and by five adoring grandchildren, Ethan Cox and Aiden, Isaiah, Ezra and Evelyn Rohr. She is mourned by her sister, Janet (Dexter) Kalt and her nephews. Thomas (Stacy) and Ken (Mary) Coggeshall and by her kind and dedicated caregiver, Lester Davidson. Joyce graduated from Centerville High School and from Kettering School of Medical Arts as an RN. She will be gratefully and affectionately remembered by the many patients to whom she provided not only medical care but also unstinting compassion as a visiting nurse. Sustained by her faith, Joyce generously gave of her love and support to everyone who touched her life. Her grandchildren were her special joy; time spent with them was her greatest pleasure. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am on Tuesday, 28 February until time of services at 11:00 AM at Schlientz and Moore Funeral Home, Wayne Avenue, Dayton, with the burial to follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
