"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole." — Roger Caras, wildlife photographer

Handsome Bob, our beloved German Shephard Dog - about 12 years of age, passed away after a brief but debilitating liver illness, with his lifelong friends by his side.
Even when told not to, he would sit exactly one & a half feet away from the dinner table, and to say he suffered from horrific morning breath is an egregious understatement.
He was the source of magnificent amounts of tumble-fur; 365 days a year seemed like the 3rd day of shedding-season.
He was a 120lb shadow. If you went to the kitchen, so did he. If you went to the bathroom, so did he. If you went to bed, so did he.
After many years dedicated to serving his country, he retired & became a part of the Schlientz & Moore Funeral Home family & service staff. In his older years, not many things excited him – except when a family arrived at the funeral home. They were obviously there to see him – whether they knew it or not.
To nearly everyone’s delight, Handsome Bob was deceptively kind and patient. He loved kids, cats and all things dairy; despised going out in the rain without an umbrella & having his nail trimmed.
A favorite past time was removing (and sometimes snacking on) pop-up tissues, directly from the box, one by one.
We are comforted by the fact that Bob lived a full life and spent every moment knowing that he was loved.
